Materials such as Benchtop are usually priced with a linear rate based on its depth.

With benchtops there is a further consideration i.e. whether one or two edges along its' length is rolled or shaped in some way. Therefore a Price Table is used to designate single and double rolled prices.

Tutorial 1

Single Rolled Benchtop Pricing

Cabinets set against a wall are normally single rolled. The following discusses how this is achieved.

In this tutorial we will illustrate the functionality by pricing the benchtop on a single Floor Standard cabinet:-

• On the Cabinet Details > General Settings page set cabinet with a Width of 1000mm and a Depth of 560mm.
• On the Cabinet Details > Benchtop page ensure that the Include Benchtop is enabled.
  • If pricing the Benchtop from the CM-Cabinets library, then this page is not available (and unnecessary).

• On the Materials > Benchtop page the material used is '_33mm Black Laminex Postform'.

Materials Manager

First access Manager from either the Pricing > Material/Hardware page shown, or the Materials-Advanced > Manager page.

Click on the Manage button and select the relevant benchtop material and price accordingly. In this example:- 

• Details page -  using the drop lists select the Type, Group and Name
  • In this example - Bench, Laminex Postform Benchtop Patterns, _33mm Black Laminex Postform

Details page, select Material to be priced  -  Click to Expand

• Pricing Page - enable and select Price Table
  • enable/tick Use Price Table checkbox and locate relevant Folder/Table by using the drop lists provided
    • locate relevant Folder/Table by using the drop lists provided i.e. Linear Benchtop / Linear Price
  • enable/tick Treat as Linear checkbox and select relevant pricing from the drop list i.e. DF-101
    • Click on image to view table. The table can be edited here using the Edit: Price Table button.

• Save your change on the Pricing page (must be done every time anything is changed).
  • A confirmation message will be presented as per the above example.

  

Report Test

To test the effect of this process, run a Quantities report.

Remember our cabinet has a width of 1000mm and a depth of 560mm, so the price is :-

• Calculated using price in applicable column that is ≤ Depth and the row is DF-101 selected on the Pricing page.
  • Depth 560mm is ≤ 600mm (but > 300mm) i.e. column 600mm

Price Tables can have a discount applied to all the values in the corresponding table.

Result: The length of the Benchtop is 1 meter x $57.75 from price table i.e. Cost price is $57.75

 

Tutorial 2

Double Rolled Benchtop Pricing

In this tutorial, we are going to apply double edge pricing to our Benchtop discussed in Tutorial 1.

The material details/pricing in the Materials Manager remain the same, but we need to change the following...

  

Price Table

The Price Table needs to have a row with Double Edge pricing i.e. a row DD-DF-101

• If your table does not have this row, see How to Edit a Price Table for instructions.

Price Tables can have a discount applied to all the values in the corresponding table.

 

Enable Double Roll Pricing

On the Pricing > Settings page of the Catalog/Drawing Properties :-

• Enable/tick the Allow Double Rolled Benchtop Pricing check box, as shown.
• Ensure the Preface is DD- as shown. The reason is that ...
  • the row designated for single rolled pricing was DF-101
  • and the row created for double row pricing is DD-DF-101

• Cabinet Details > Benchtop page on a Standard cabinet.
